• Opponents’ main claim: Abolishing property taxes would create an immediate $850 million shortfall.
• Rebuttal: Total increases in government spending (budgeting) has to be scrutinized as this drives the property taxes required. The $850M figure relies on conservative assumptions:
– No transactions are included from minors (under 18), including our visitors
– Unknown amount of transaction increases from more discretionary money in people’s hands
– Arbitrary estimates of small (<$15) transactions
• Property-tax growth is out of control
– 2020: ~$1.4 billion collected
– 2027 projected: ~$2 billion → 39% increase
– Population growth in same period: only 4.7%
– Typical taxpayer income did NOT rise 39% (e.g., $50k earner unlikely to now earn $69k)
• Where the extra money goes
– New equipment, more staff, raises for officials
– Counties almost never request less money — only more → endless expansion & inefficiency
• Property taxes are subjective and unfair
– Assessments based on surrounding sales, not actual home value → taxes on unrealized gains
– Homeowners face unpredictable yearly bills and risk losing homes if they can’t pay
• Opponents’ mindset
– Many defenders are government insiders or exhibit “Stockholm Syndrome”-like behavior (learned helplessness, trauma bonding with the tax system)
– They view government as the solution instead of the problem
• Core question
– Which is more extreme: endless annual tax increases with zero accountability,
or abolishing property taxes and forcing government to “right-size”?
Bottom line
• If you want ever-larger government and higher taxes no matter the results → oppose the plan
• If you want accountability, controlled spending, and protection for homeowners → support abolishing property taxes to restore balance.

Property Taxes are Immoral for one simple reason, if you don't pay your taxes, the government can take your property.
To take it another step further, the crime (not paying property taxes) doesn't fit the punishment (having your property taken away) as they are greatly unequal in value.
As such, the government uses this threat to make you comply. The current system is neither fair nor equitable. Nevertheless, this is the system government uses and whether or not it was intended to control the people, the result is clear, that is what is happening and the threat IS real and people are losing their properties.
This is what the American Feudal System looks like in the United States. Thus, making the government over the people.
Our state motto is, 'Under God the People Rule'. Either that is a lie or government has usurped the people's legal authority.
